Chapter 1: The Beginning

Shawn Decker is an Entrepreneur, Life Coach and Public Speaker. Over the last two decades, Shawn has had the privilege of mentoring and coaching people from all walks of life in the areas of business, marriage, and life in general. Drawing on his past experiences, he skillfully weaves his compelling life story to reflect the daily struggle in each one of our lives.

Shawn is certified by the Christian Association of Youth Mentors and has served in ministries and organizations as a youth pastor, teacher and mentor.

He and his wife, Amanda, have been married since 2012 and reside in Roanoke, VA with their two sons.

The Book: Running from Miracles

Running from Miracles is a story of Hope.

Through the eyes of Shawn, his parents and others, you will see that even when a person doesn’t see God in his or her life, He is there. Despite the times when His Presence seemed veiled by painful or uncertain circumstances, God was ever present in Shawn and his parents’ lives. Even when Shawn was doing his best to run from God, God proved that He is ever present, faithful and consistent in his life.

In a time of brokenness, of pain and final surrender, He is there just waiting for us. It is the author’s desire that, just as he did and still does, you will use the Reflections and Prayers in Shawn’s story and apply the lessons learned to your own life.
